I’ve always been enthralled by the lengths most people take to pursue their passions. From romance to jetsetting to everything in between, sometimes it seems there’s nothing that can come between a person and their dreams. It’s only when those dreams become a reality that we move on to fulfill the next goal. With this edition, we too are pursuing our passions — and the passions of the residents and friends of Key Biscayne. In “Global Heartbeats,” we take you on a tour of seven of the most romantic hotels and resorts ever built — from a rock-inspired resort in Jamaica to a Nordic light-themed hotel in Sweden and sweet escapes in Greece, Japan, Cyprus, Oman and Turkey. The places we’ve discovered will ensure the sparks start flying whether you’re on your first date or your second honeymoon. Closer to home, in “Pure Elegance,” we enter a design and architectural masterpiece on Key Biscayne that showcases South Bay Group’s unique knack for creating world-class homes. Their work may inspire you to make a few upgrades in your own home. And while your lounging on your new sofa enjoying a glass of wine, you might consider flipping through “Enchanted Forest” for a look at some fashion, hair and makeup ideas that will spice up the rest of your night and guarantee you have the fairytale ending you deserve. If you need a little more inspiration, make sure to read our intimate interview with Key Biscayne resident Fanny Lu in “Fabulously Fanny.” This Colombian megastar will inspire you with both her music and her looks. If it’s your love life you’re looking to revamp, Key Biscayne’s own “Lust Savior,” certified online therapist Elicia Lowitz, can make that happen, oftentimes with a mere click of the mouse. To celebrate your newfound love, you might want to check out the inspiration behind private caterer Chef D. Chalaron’s romance-themed menus in “Love Chef.” To fill your calendar up with fun things to see and do, our “Frolic” and “Compass” sections will guide you in the right direction regardless of the pastime or topic you’re interested in pursuing. Once you’re done flipping through this issue, remember to keep us on your radar for the series of upcoming events we’re planning throughout the year. And as always, I welcome your ideas, comments and feedback at [email protected]. Without you, this magazine just wouldn’t be the same.
