She said she’d literally taken last year’s Annual Guide and made it her mission to either visit online, stop by in person, call or set up an appointment with every Editor’s Pick included in the magazine. Once she completed the project sometime this summer, she then flipped through to The Directory in the back of the book and did the same thing. WOW! Was this woman pulling my chain? Was she delusional? A compulsive liar? Was she trying to kiss up to me to get some ink? For whatever reason, I got a feeling that it was none of the above.. Just before we said our good-byes, she told me she was looking forward to the 2013 Guide, which you’re holding in your hands. I told her I’d dedicate my Editor’s Letter this month to her. And I keep my promises. But I didn’t get her name and her number was blocked when she called. So to the lovely lady who took the time to call me a few days before Christmas 2012 to warm my heart with your sweet words, I say thank-you. You made me (and hopefully those of you reading this) smile. Please contact me again to let me know how we did on this year’s edition. I’m eagerly awaiting to hear from you again. JORGE ARAUZ, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF.
