Mexico’s Highway One stretches from Tijuana to the southern tip of The Baja Peninsula; there’s no need for a map — you literally can’t get lost. Almost all of it is in better shape than much of I-95. It meanders from the Pacific with breaching whales and shrimp tacos, across a desert straight out of a Hollywood cowboy movie, to the Sea Of Cortez’s achingly picturesque beaches and bays. Each day we put about 250 miles on the bikes before we pulled into a 5-Star resort. A van loaded with our luggage followed behind so we could travel fast and light.
