It’s easy to leave behind your toothbrush or your shaver if you’re rushing to pack your things before jetting across The Atlantic. Shampoo, conditioner, a hairbrush, a shave kit, deodorant, baby powder, body lotion, baby wipes and anti-bacterial soap cover your basics, but things like sunblock and insect repellent can also make the trip that much more comfortable.

A sense of adventure takes you deep into the blue oceans of the Adriatic Sea, high into the mountains of the Swiss Alps and even into the dense rainforests of Brazil and Belize. With these new landscapes come unexpected ailments like altitude sickness, motion sickness from choppy seas or a full-body rash from hiking in the bush. Make sure to have plenty of allergy & pain meds packed so you don’t have to tap out longer than you have to.

A really memorable trip requires you to engage your explorer curiosity while being resourceful — and prepared. Yes, the proper electricity converter is a must for overseas travel, but be sure to also pack a wine bottle opener, rubber bands, safety pins and a water purifier so you don’t have to worry about finding them when you land.
