Getting kids involved in being green early is the way to instill a life-long love of the Earth and conservation. The Miami Science Museum’s Eco-Ambassador Program helps teenagers benefit the environment and become conservation leaders in the community through hands-on education and projects throughout the Miami area. Through partnerships with local universities, the teens learn how research is conducted in the field. Recent projects include designing a fully interactive tabletop exhibit about coastal erosion that will be on display in the new museum in 2015, and maintaining a 5-year Reclamation Project of over 1,000 mangrove seedlings at the museum before planting them at R. Hardy Matheson Preserve; MiamiSci.org.
