A South Florida-born ballerina who began studying the arduous art of dance at the tender age of 4, Miami City Ballet’s Lauren Fadeley knows a thing or two about toning one’s body into the closest approximation of perfection. Fresh off of finishing her first full year as Principal Soloist with an impressive number of credits under her belt (everything from studying at the prestigious School of American Ballet to performing in Darren Aronofsky’s 2010 critically-acclaimed ballet-based thriller Black Swan), the New York-trained Fadeley is thrilled to be performing once more in her home region. “Miami City Ballet is unique in that everyone has so much spark and individuality that is showcased on stage,” says Fadeley, who had the honor of performing in front of Pope Francis at a 2015 event. “I’m a true believer that the weather here is better for our minds and bodies and everyone is just nicer and happier, which shows in our dancing.
