The world-renown photography project NOMADS Miami celebrates smart, strong and successful women from all over the world who now live and work in Miami. The purpose of this work is to emphasize human — especially female — resilience in contrast to the negativity that has been taking place on the political stage, and the movements that have emerged as a result. It is to show how immigrant women are part of the Miami community, occupying important professional positions and contributing to our city. A perfect example is the recent show of Colombian Artist Johnny Acero and his artistic producer Anna Zilberberg who did not just capture portraits of different personalities but embodied each woman with her alter ego of choices, something or someone she wants to be, even if it’s a fictional character or someone she subconsciously relates to. Each photo has its own atmosphere and story behind it. It is a thought-provoking statement on the power of womanhood that is in sync with NOMADS Miami’s mission; 786.536.8405; #NomadsMiami.
