Summer camp is important because it offers a structured opportunity for children to grow. Kids go from home to school to extracurriculars, with each environment contributing to their development. Summer camp, then, is another critical venue for growth, allowing kids to become independent and self-confident while socializing, making new friends and learning new skills. Designed for children ages 5-12, Summer Art Camps @ The Bass are led by professional museum educators, teaching artists and certified M-DPS art teachers. Campers learn through fun, hands-on art activities in sculpture, painting, design and more. The names of the sessions — Painting On Unique Surfaces, Pop-up Sculptures, Sound Sculptures, Fantastical Creatures, Street Art, Inventions and much more — will make you wish you were a kid all over again; Now through Aug. 16; TheBass.org.
