The result of collaboration between Dutch design studio Vripack, Alia Yachts and the owner, Al Waab shows what can be accomplished when a dedicated, talented group works together. Named after a boom town in Qatar, the yacht was completed in two years, an impressive feat considering the complexity of building the world’s largest steel and aluminum vessel with a gross tonnage (a measure of interior volume) below 500 under pandemic conditions; she’s ranked within the top 10% of yachts by size. With an overall length of 55 meters, a tiny bit more than 180 feet and a beam of just under 30 feet, she is larger than many palatial, shore-bound homes, and is packed with amenities including a gym, airy salon, pool, and a gourmet-level galley — all of which ensure comfort at sea no matter how long the voyage.
