When he started experimenting with melting down and reusing plastic debris in 2019, he did it from a small carport. He’s since moved his operation into a warehouse filled with professional shredders, injectors and a fully equipped carpentry shop. Think coffee tables, public art, and even guitars. Most recently, the organization partnered with Miami-Dade County and O, Miami, to create plastic art installations of poetry written by local students. He believes that Key Biscayne is the perfect place for spearheading a plastic upcycling initiative because of the daily litter the island’s beaches collect from beachgoers and boat traffic on a daily basis.
