In 1912, the City of Miami Beach asked the public for cats to deal with rats overrunning the island. Fast-forward to present day, and the rats are gone, but now there are more than 30,000 “community cats” running wild. “I’ve always been a cat lover and rescued cats in Italy,” says Romani. “When I moved to Miami, I saw many cats outside buildings and learned that there’s only volunteers looking after them.” Her group now feeds and provides medical care to many cats. They also help people adopt the cats and get help from the compassionate folks at Miami Animal Clinic and Almo Nature, a quality cat food brand from Italy. “A society is only as civilized as they treat their animals,” she says. “We need volunteers and donations to feed these cats, fix them, and give them medical care.”; @HelpMiamiCats.
