As the founder of Mathematics Without Borders, he is turning a simple idea of students helping students into a vibrant, youth-powered network linking under-resourced rural schools with peers in the U.S. What started as a personal project at iPrep Academy has grown into a tight circle of classmates and a supportive math teacher, all rallying behind Acero’s mission to offer meaningful academic support while sparking genuine cultural exchange. The first chapter unfolded in Vado Real, a rural village in Colombia, where he spent part of his summer vacation teaching math and forming friendships that traveled far beyond the chalkboard. The project eventually shifted online, expanding into virtual tutoring, cultural showcases, and heartfelt connections between both communities. With early donations supplying devices and plans underway for a small library, Acero is already preparing to bring his model to new partner schools as far away as Saint Lucia and Spain, proving that one student’s initiative can bridge worlds and change lives; @MathematicsWithoutBorders.
