Beauty Makers

We all want to look our best for the upcoming holiday season and its chi chi parties and galas. One of the most efficient ways to achieve improvements is to take advantage of the dermatology, cosmetic and plastic surgery services of the Drs. Khouri. A quick Botox or Restlyane/Perlane filler treatment will help perk up even the most tired face. Another option is to rejuvenate the skin via a Fraxel Laser treatment that provides revitalized, younger-looking skin with little or no downtime. For more information, visit DrsKhouri.com.

Face It
Ever notice how people who’ve had a facelift look better, but they don’t look younger? For many years, we’ve viewed aging as an effect of gravity. Recent studies have shown that the primary problem with aging is fat loss. The “skin envelope” of the face deflates as we lose fat during aging. We see the skin sagging, but deflation is the primary problem, not gravity. The logical approach is to add fat back to the face. The procedure is known as fat grafting, which can be done alone, in younger patients, or combined with a facelift for older patients. Fat is usually harvested from the tummy, and then centrifuged, leaving only pure fat cells. It is then re-injected to the areas where the fat has disappeared. Typically, this can be in the cheeks, the creases between the nose and the mouth, and the folds between the mouth and the chin. The fat remains there for the rest of the patient’s life, eliminating the need for repeated injections of fillers like Restylane. It is natural, and feels soft and normal.
