At FilmGate Miami’s Youth Filmmaker Summer Bootcamp, students aged 13–18 will step into the exciting world of professional filmmaking with guidance from award-winning filmmakers, working editors and industry mentors. From June 16-27, it’s the next generation’s time to shine with Filmmaker Bootcamp: Narrative Films, where teens 13-18 will learn the full filmmaking process and create their very own original short films; followed by a Documentary & Podcast Bootcamp from July 28-Aug. 8, teaching participants how to tell stories that matter and learning the tools to share it with the world. “We’re not theory — we’re action,” say the organizers. “Students write, shoot, direct, act, edit, and present their work. This isn’t a classroom — it’s a film set.” Classes are Mon.-Fri. from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., with healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks provided. All levels welcomed; FilmGate.miami.
