The slim case and matching strap clasp are formed from the firm’s proprietary brilliant hard titanium, which provides a polished appearance superior to traditional titanium. The dial’s design was inspired by the bark of Japan’s white birch trees, accented by a blue second hand. It’s powered by an in-house, rotorless, high-beat 9SA4 movement with an 80-hour power reserve which can be viewed though the exhibition caseback. This is the first hand-wound movement the firm has released in more than 50 years. Secured by a hand-stitched crocodile strap, it’s also available in rose gold in a limited edition of 80 pieces; Grand-Seiko.com.
