But their crown jewel is Bugatti, whose ultimate model used to be the 1,001-hp Veyron. But now there’s a new Bugatti in town: The Bugatti Chiron. Boasting 1,500 hp roaring out of a twin-turbocharged W16 engine, the Chiron can take you from 0 to 249 mph and back to 0 in 42 seconds. Rumor has it this was first accomplished by a valet in the parking lot at Monty’s. Going that fast requires supernaturally good brakes, which is why the Chiron is equipped with carbon ceramic brakes that actually slow the rate at which the Earth rotates when fully applied.
