Financial Resource

As far back as she can remember, Mayra Mesa has been driven by challenges. With nearly 40 years of banking experience, not a day goes by that she does not exceed expectations and enrich the lives of her customers.

As a Private Client Group Relationship Manager for Amerant Bank, Mayra Mesa will never forget walking into a very busy branch of a local South Florida bank and seeing how the manager moved back and forth from client to client, solving issues and making things happen. “I told myself I want to be like her and shortly after began my career in banking in 1982,” she says. One of her proudest moments was when as a branch manager, she started up a brand-new banking center. “Growing something from scratch has a very rewarding feeling attached to it,” she says. “I’m extremely excited to get that opportunity again when Amerant opens the Key Biscayne banking center in 2023. We have such a great location in Key Colony Plaza, right next to the Starbucks.” Often, she meets with people that have a very minimal understanding of the financial world. “They look to you as an expert,” she says. “I love helping others and guiding them on their financial journey. Customers are all different and have different goals — my job is to understand those goals and walk with them on their journey.” Bringing people together is a passion of hers; the idea of a cohesive team is something that drives her. She is laser-focused on finishing every task. “That’s something I live by,” she says. She also loves Latin music and is a fabulous dancer — you can usually find her dancing at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne at least twice a week; AmerantBank.com.
