Healthier Future

In today’s society, wellness for kids is just as important as it is for adults, perhaps even more important. At Ahimsa MD, they believe the time to focus on chidhood wellness is now to improve overall physical health and mental well-being.

At Ahimsa M.D., Dr. Simoni Baid and her team believe that wellness and healthcare are one; and that proper lifestyle and education can’t start too young. “If we focus on our kids’ wellness now, which means really optimizing their diet, their microbiome, and their environment, then as they grow, they will not develop these chronic illnesses that are rapidly increasing in our population,” she says. “We need to be encouraging outside playtime, to get some Vitamin D. We need to be using blue light glasses when they do screen time for homework in the afternoons, to allow for proper growth hormone secretion at night. We need to be focusing on a diversified plant-based diet, to maximize their nutritional status.” Additionally, young children should be taught coping skills, such as breathwork, early on in life, so they can manage feelings of anxiety, attention deficit and depression before it becomes a full-on disorder.
