We scoured Key Biscayne to find couples who take the power of two to a whole new level. Their total devotion to one another is both inspirational and beautiful, and their responses to our questions will make you laugh, cry and fall in love all over again.

Antonio Braschi & Elisa Di Costra

Residence: The Towers Of Key Biscayne

Time together: 16 years

Children & Pets: Antonella, 12; Antonio Luis, 10; no pets

Professions: They are the owners of Costa Med & Kazumi in Key Biscayne

How they met: Being Italian, she was a regular client for Parmigiano Reggiano at his food service company in Caracas.

What do you love about each other? Antonio: “Her work capacity, the rest is X-rated…; Elisa: “His intelligence and the way he smells.”

What can’t you stand? Antonio: “Her stubbornness.”; Elisa: “He’s very indecisive.”

Romantic nicknames: He calls her “Gorda”; she calls him “Papi”.

Ideal “date night”: A weeknight diner at their favorite French restaurant.

How have you made each other better? “Together, we have created a very beautiful family.”

Best way to describe your relationship? Antonio: “A team!”; Elisa: “Mars & Venus!”

Children & Pets: Leana, 30; Sabrina, 29; Valentina, 3 (dog)

Professions: He’s an Artist & Painter who owns Calcem Lime Paint, Inc.; She’s a Realtor-Associate for Fortune International Realty in Key Biscayne & Project Coordinator for Calcem Lime Paint

How they met: A blind date in 1981 that included dinner at Gil Cappa’s Bistro in Miami Beach followed by drinks at The Sandbar in Key Biscayne.

What do you love about each other? Emilio: “I fell in love with her positivity & friendly attitude toward everyone.” Debbie: “I love his creativity, passion & the constant new adventures we go on together.”

What can’t you stand? Emilio: “We don’t have the same taste in TV programs.” Debbie: “His intensity.”

Romantic nicknames: He calls her “Cucca”; She calls him “Cucco”.

Ideal “date night”: Going out for an evening on the town with dancing, a nice dinner, a few drinks and a great ambiance.

How have you made each other better? Emilio: “She cares about my health and my attitude and always wants me to be at my best.”; Debbie: “His love and focus on the family has made me a better person.”

Best way to describe your relationship? Emilio: “Strong.”; Debbie: “We are like the ocean.”

Alfonso & Karla Cantalapiedra

Residence: Warren Lane

Time Together: 12 years

Children & Pets: Marco, 6; Diego, 4; and another boy on the way. Also, Koko The Bulldog.

Profession: He’s Head of International Acquisitions & Strategy for Apollo Education Group; She’s a Doctor in Psychology

How they met: She was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar…“We did meet at a bar, that much is true,” they say. Four months later, she couldn’t stand to be away from him so he quickly imported her from Puerto Rico.

What do you love about each other? Alfonso: “Her eyes, energy and the amazing mother she is to our kids.”; Karla: “He makes me feel safe, has a wonderful sense of humor, is very passionate and has a great smile.”

What can’t you stand? Alfonso: “I think sometimes the ‘energy’ part gets to be too much!” Karla: “He can be too cautious at times and too much of a sports fanatic.”

Romantic nicknames: He calls her “Beps”; She calls him “Alfonso.”

Ideal “date night”: Doing something new and adventurous together, followed by whisky & rum.

How have you made each other better? Alfonso: “She reminds me that the best way to be a caring father and husband is to simply be there to enjoy life.”; Karla: “He gave me wonderful children, makes me feel loved and always reminds me to laugh.”

Best way to describe your relationship? Alfonso: “Spicy!” Karla: “Like a roller-coaster with ups & downs, but we’re always grateful to be stuck with each other!”
