Michael Gebhard & Marah Caban

Eleven months after a “magical” first date, Michael Gebhard & Marah Caban were married, following a romantic Champagne proposal on the beach in Key Biscayne. Today, the dynamic duo work together on the island making real estate deals at The Gebhard Caban Group, brokered by Robert Slack LLC. Along with the many adventures they have experienced together around the world (including hiking the Austrian Alps!), they vividly remember their wedding day. “From the instant we first met, life worked its magic and our love story began,” they say. “We will always remember how very excited we both were on our big day about starting our next life chapter as a family.” When it comes to establishing a work-life balance, their ambitions and goals may be aligned but they are still fundamentally very different people with their own unique perspectives to bring to the table. “We’ve realized through all of these years together that our differences are our biggest strength,” they say. “And we love that about each other!”

Gil Bruh & Jennifer Held

Spending their time between their oceanfront condo at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne and their sprawling estate in Long Island, tech entrepreneur Gil Bruh and attorney Jennifer Held spend as much time soaking up the sun in paradise as their hectic schedules will allow. Although they grew up in the same neighborhood, the pair did not cross paths until much later in life. “We met on a dating app and were both immediately intrigued by each other’s profiles and discovering we had mutual acquaintances,” they say. “There was an instant spark and we knew pretty early in the relationship that there was a real possibility that we would be spending the rest of our lives together.” After a fairytale wedding at a castle in New York, the pair welcomed their son, Spencer, a few years later and have been loving their dual statehood ever since. “There’s nothing we enjoy more than spending the day at the beach,” they say. “A life lived by the sea is a life worth living.”

Laine Shakerdge & Michael Caggiano

Year after year for half a decade, Laine Shakerdge and Michael Caggiano would visit Miami from Washington, D.C., during Art Basel. They finally decided to make the move to Key Biscayne last year. She is a commercial real estate investor who has owned shopping centers, apartment buildings and builds spec homes; he’s Senior Managing Director of Robert Half Executive Search. Together, the couple runs Jewelry For Good, an organization that raises funds for non-profits, without it costing the donors a dime. “We take out-of-style, never liked it anyway, broken, bad memory gold jewelry and unwanted sterling silver bowls, trays, flatware, etc., and turn it into cash for the donor’s charity of choice, giving them a tax deduction receipt for the full value of the gold or silver,” they say. “Recently we hosted a Bring Your Bling To Brunch event for the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade and raised thousands of dollars for the organization. We look forward to working with other area non-profits to do the same. Don’t wear it? Donate it. Don’t use it? Donate it!”
