Miuccia Prada must have had a youthful 1950s-era Sophia Loren or perhaps a Claudia Cardinale in mind as the muse to her Spring/Summer collection. The designs include tailored knee-length skirts that are cinched at the waist by thick body-favoring belts. The shoes are gigantic platforms and ultra-feminine mules embellished by bows — they look like they’re right out of a Busby Berkeley musical. For the designer’s resort collection, the skirts run ultra mini — as if reawakening Steven Meisel’s collaboration with Madonna in the early ‘90s for their take on the mod ‘60s.
