Make friends, get connected, and help save the planet all at the same time. Sound like fun? Then you might feel right at home with the Sea Star Society, the young professionals’ group of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center in Key Biscayne. The organization brings together environmentally-minded individuals to connect and help forward the center’s mission: to increase environmental education and awareness around our community and throughout the world. Membership also scores you an invitation to some seriously cool events, like a recent soiree that combined light bites, cocktails and networking with a rare opportunity to witness the release of baby sea turtles back into the wild; $25 per year; 305.361.6767, BiscayneNatureCenter.org.
