Welcome to the new Key Biscayne Magazine! This issue marks my first edition as Editor-in-Chief of this world-class publication. In training for the job for the past three months, I’ve come to discover a lot about the unique island community that graces our namesake and the pages inside this magazine. Never in my career have I come across such a unique and tight-knit family of readers. As a native of South Florida, I frequently made it over to the beaches, restaurants and entertainment venues found throughout the Key, although I must admit I never really got to know its residents until the opportunity to helm the island’s exclusive magazine presented itself. Since then, I have been privy to some of Key Biscayne’s most well-kept secrets including its influential residents, breathtaking homes and outdoor treasures. I’ve realized the social slant that makes the island one-of-a-kind and have created the new editorial direction to reflect the various tastes and interests found throughout the island while providing off-Key entertainment options for those who wish to venture to the mainland for some unforgettable good times in the diverse melting pot we all call home. So as you flip through this issue, pay close attention to the new sections, the revived editorial vibe and the overall facelift the magazine has gone through. I thank each and every one of you for welcoming me into your community with open arms and for taking the time to tour me through your homes, your lives and your passions. I look forward to continuing to establish a relationship with each and every one of you as the weeks progress. So as we embark on a new year and a new chapter in Key Biscayne Magazine’s history together, I’d like you right next to me for the journey.
