Her natural ability to connect donors, corporations and community leaders to Jackson’s mission has turned into transformative investments in patient care, medical innovation, and facility enhancements. She has re-imagined how philanthropy shows up in Miami, launching initiatives like One Day for Jackson, an annual day of giving, which not only raises critical funds for Jackson Health System but unites the community around a shared purpose. The Foundation’s defining achievement this year was a $100 million donation — a collective of gifts from community leaders and philanthropists for the new emergency room at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Prior to joining Jackson Health Foundation, Llizo held several distinguished positions in Miami-Dade’s philanthropic community. Her efforts cumulatively raised more than $265 million for various healthcare and social service organizations; JacksonHealthFoundation.org.
