Water Saver
Despite our best intentions, it’s not a matter of if, but when we will end up exposing our phone to some sort of spill or splash. Whether it’s knocking over a cup of coffee or tumbling from our pocket into a puddle, our precious cells can be protected by Liquipel. Liquipel covers electronic devices in an ultra-thin waterproof coating. You won’t know it’s there — at least until the inevitable accident happens, and you can happily rest assured that your phone is safe; Liquipel.com.
Lock Box
These days, we use our phone for more and more of our lives — personal emails, shopping, online banking…that’s a whole lot of information we’d rather not have accessible to WiFi network snoopers or device thieves. Lookout Security & Antivirus provides browsing safety, antivirus protection, data backup and much more for a small monthly fee. Our favorite feature? Its remote locking and wiping capability, for that just-in-case moment when someone walks away with your life in their pocket; MyLookout.com.
Tough Cookie
When it comes to our phones, we’ll admit it: We’re our own worst enemies. It seems inevitable that we’ll find some way to batter, break or outright destroy these expensive — and essential — devices. The Samsung Rugby Smart is a phone ready to defend itself from our abuses. It’s dust-proof, heat-resistant and can be left in water for up to half an hour. It’s also 4G capable with a respectable 3.7-inch touchscreen display; Samsung.com.
Transform It
The transformation that people go through when they start practicing yoga never ceases to amaze me. I’ve seen practitioners quit medications for various conditions such as sciatica and high cholesterol, just from the benefits of yoga practice, including breathing and meditation. The weak become stronger, the tense learn to relax…it even affects the people surrounding the student. I believe that yoga goes into every place where it’s needed. Anyone can access it. The transformation begins with taking some time to practice. My favorite time is before breakfast. Start with a few minutes of conscious breathing every morning and observe how that affects your day. The goal isn’t necessarily to perfect advanced poses: it is to increase life quality by finding the peace within. Time and time again I see troubled people emerge as happier and more balanced, and that’s what keeps me going as a teacher.
