For Daniela Garcia, it started with a simple goal to inspire. “At the beginning, it was more about the messages on the shirts,” she admits. The slogans on her Pure of Heart fashion line are upbeat and uplifting — from “Pure Strength” to the affirmative “I Am Who I Want To Be”…“While creating my first collection, I became aware of how much of a positive impact I wanted to make within people, and that couldn’t be complete without considering the consequences of creating something that could harm the planet,” she says. Garcia’s solution was to make her line out of 100% Tencel, a biodegradable, USA-made fabric. She hopes that soon, eco-conscious clothing will be popular enough to help make costs even more affordable for shoppers. “Not all of us feel that we can afford eco-friendly clothing,” she says, “but it’s certainly worth the effort to protect our only planet!”
