Punch Packer

This tart and sweet drink is traditionally enjoyed during the holidays in Jamaica and is perfect for South Florida’s mild winters. This special punch is just as good without the rum so it can be enjoyed by the whole family.

2 cups Sorrel
¼ cup thinly sliced Ginger
1 tsp. whole, lightly crushed Allspice
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 cup Sugar
8 cups Water
White Rum to taste

Bring the water to a boil and remove from heat. Add all the ingredients except the rum and allow to steep until it comes to room temperate. Strain, chill and serve in a sugar-rimmed glass.
