As a child, Federico Gandolfi Vannini, a 4th generation art dealer, ran through long corridors where works by Goya, Caravaggio, Titian and other great artists were stacked one on top of the other; waiting to find their place in museums or private collections. He and his Cuban-American wife Daisy Diaz, a South Florida native, and their 4 children moved from Florence to Key Biscayne when the weight of the pandemic swept through Italy, bringing their passion for great works with them. Faith, Beauty & Devotion is the largest exhibition of art from the 13th-17th Centuries from a private collection to ever come to Miami, and includes a Rubens painting from the Spencer-Churchill estate. Organized by Frederico & Daisy in collaboration with Sylvie Daubar-San Juan, Humanities Department Chairperson & Director of the Olga M. & Carlos A. Saladrigas Art Gallery at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, this rare exhibition traces historical and artistic changes as they relate to the Italian Renaissance when the powerful Medici banking family transformed Florence into the cultural center of Europe. Now through Art Basel; BelenJesuit.org/Exhibition.
