The mission of Paw Patrol Animal Rescue is to place healthy and happy pets into the right forever homes. As a foster-based rescue, their pets are in private homes within Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The fosters are volunteers who nurture and protect these animals as well as provide shelter and training, “They supply love and care, we supply everything else,” says Co-Founder Annie Lopez. “All the vet bills and supplies for our pets are paid by the rescue and we work solely on donations and grants.” Paw Patrol currently has 59 animals on their roster. “Miami is a hotbed for dumped and abandoned animals,” she says. She and Co-Founder Cristy Torres both have full-time jobs and work around the clock for the rescue as well, dealing with found animals and surrendered pets. They also collaborate with police departments on hoarding cases and pull animals from the Miami-Dade shelter, whenever possible. In addition to the animals officially adopted through the rescue, they’ve helped numerous animals working with other reputable rescues when they have been unable to take them on because of lack of funds or fosters; PawPatrolAnimalRescue.com.
