Speak Up

Now best known for sound-cancelling headphones that make airline travel pleasant, even while seated next to shrieking babies, Bose set the audiophile world on its ear in 1968 with the introduction of the revolutionary 901 speaker.

The pentagon-shaped cabinet houses nine 4-inch drivers, one facing forward, with the rest sending sound to every corner of the room, creating a concert-quality experience. Raised up on a pedestal, the speakers made as much a visual impact as they did an aural one. Production of the 901 ceased in 2016, but recognizing that the qualities which allowed it to create magnificent sound had not been surpassed, Bose has partnered with New York’s Kith fashion house to introduce the 60th Anniversary Kith Bose 901 Speakers. Housed in either ash wood or walnut cases, the speakers are supported by rubbed brass stems and feature period-correct mesh fabric covers; Bose.com.
