Perfect match
Together for 16 years, Drs. Justin & Natalie Townsend met in the clinics and hallways of Bascom Palmer Eye Institute during their residency programs. In 2013, when Justin finished a vitreoretinal fellowship at Emory University, the couple planned to return to Miami. In the interim, they shipped all of their belongings and put everything in storage so they could fly to Europe and live out of their carry-on suitcases for more than a month, traveling together to 10 different countries. “It was, and is, one of the highs of our relationship and lives,” they say. “When we met, we quickly realized that together we can accomplish so much — it was like 1 + 1 = 4!”
Dynamic Duo
Meeting through mutual friends on the island more than 36 years ago, longtime Key Biscayners Gonzalo & Ani Nuñez had one of their first dates at an Al Jarreau concert in Miami Marine Stadium. Today, he is the President & CEO of Technology Coast Partners; and she is the Sr. Managing Director for Wealth Management at Northern Trust in Key Biscayne. They are active in several organizations including the Key Biscayne Chamber, Key Biscayne Yacht Club, St. Agnes Academy, Catholic Community Foundation, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and the Key Biscayne Athletic Association. “The secret to our lasting relationship is rooted in love, respect, communication, admiration and common values,” they say. “The greatest part of being together is the beautiful and loving family that we have created — they are our pride and joy!”
All Love
Recently celebrating their milestone silver jubilee anniversary, the past 25 years that Juan Yuste & Olga Izquierdo have spent together have been full of shared experiences, love and laughter. They are deeply committed to the island they call home — he hosting fundraising tournaments and events through the Acts Tennis Academy; and she supporting local businesses pro bono through the CuCo Company, a leading digital marketing and communications agency. “A lasting relationship is built day by day with love, respect, patience, and a lot of teamwork,” they say. “We’ve had ups and downs like any couple, but we always support each other and face challenges together. It’s about growing and learning side by side.”
