In creating this issue, I quickly realized that fashion is much more than just the clothes on your back, the socks in your drawer or the outfits in your closet — it’s an extension of one’s personality. As you flip through this edition, you’ll notice that we’ve carefully selected every feature to try to take the guesswork out of the fashionable decisions we will all be forced to make this season. In “33 Unique Boutique Finds,” the newest addition to our team, Luisana Suegart, rummaged through the good, the bad and the ugly of South Florida boutiques to bring you some of the best style finds on this side of the planet. From couture dresses for her to designer shoes for him and everything in between, some of the things she’s discovered will make you pencil in a shopping spree as soon as your hectic schedule allows. To help you keep the conversation up to the standards of your new wardrobe, make sure to check out our “Compass” and “Frolic” sections for the latest buzzworthy launches and must-attend events. As you read, I encourage you to pay special attention to the people we’ve profiled throughout the magazine. Some of them have defined fashion in the clothes they wear, some have established their own trends through their stylish actions and still others have created hubs of fashion that have made regular boutiques seem passé. Either way, they’ve set out to be noticed and that should get you hooked on everything they have to offer — and maybe inspire you to do a little “soul-styling” of your own. And always remember: It’s not what you wear that matters, but where you bought it.
