Iconic Love Stroy

The stage comes alive with passion and drama as more than 50 of the phenomenally talented dancers of Miami City Ballet perform to Tchaikovsky’s splendid score in a dynamic interpretation of the world’s most famous ballet, Swan Lake, lovingly reconstructed by celebrated choreographer Alexei Ratmansky. Odette and her companions transform into swans under the spell cast by evil sorcerer Baron von Rothbart. Their days are spent gracefully gliding on a lake only to return to their human form at night. The only thing that can break the spell is true love — and Rothbart will do anything in his power to stop it; Apr. 18-May 12; MiamiCityBallet.org.

Shore Thing

A celebration of the special beauty of the unique ecosystem that is Biscayne Bay, during the 42nd Annual Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day, thousands of volunteers join together to clean up the shoreline at over 30 locations across Miami-Dade; Apr. 13. MiamiDade.gov/Baynanza.

Fleet Footed

Each April, runners come together on Key Biscayne for Miami’s KB Half Marathon. The route traverses through beautiful Crandon Park and Virginia Key Park, along the water with gorgeous views, featuring plenty of shade, too. It’s a robust out-and-back run with a small portion on dirt roads and paths; Apr. 7; BaysideHalfMarathon.com.

Mod Exotica

The unique brainchild of Miami Guitarist & Composer Russell Mofsky, Gold Dust Lounge is an amalgamation of his eclectic influences, from surfy jazz to cool lounge noir and punky Americana. Arranged in a quartet encompassing guitar, violin, bass and drums, no two shows are alike, making each performance a unique treat for the senses; Apr. 11; ArshtCenter.org.
