Key Biscayne’s biggest Halloween tradition returns Oct. 24 as Friends of Cape Florida hosts the 10th Annual Haunted Hike @ Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. From 6 p.m.-10 p.m., the park’s trails near Pavilion D transform into a family- friendly gauntlet of community-built Spooky Spots, with past editions drawing close to a thousand costumed attendees for carnival rides, a pumpkin patch, food trucks, and a haunted trail winding beneath the park’s tree canopy. The event doubles as the park’s largest annual fundraiser, blending Key Biscayne’s natural beauty with a night of Halloween fun; FloridaStateParks.org.
Behind The Magic
Guests are invited behind the curtain this season at Frost Science as The Science Behind Pixar runs from Oct. 10 through Apr. 11, 2027. The exhibition breaks down the studio’s production pipeline into hands-on sections, from Modeling and Rigging to Lighting and Rendering. Visitors can sculpt digital characters, solve underwater lighting puzzles inspired by Finding Nemo, and pose for photos with life-size figures of Buzz Lightyear, Dory and WALL-E. More than 50 interactive elements reveal the science, math and creative problem-solving behind decades of beloved films. Night Of Giving
Miami-Dade’s philanthropic calendar marks a bright spot this season as Chapman Partnership prepares to host the Illuminations Gala on Oct. 17 at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami. This year’s theme, No Place Like Home, anchors an evening built around the donors and volunteers whose efforts light the path for those experiencing homelessness. Jose Dans and Heide Dans chair the event, joined by Co-Chairs Maryam Laguna Borrego and Eddie Borrego. The evening also presents the Alvah H. Chapman, Jr., Humanitarian Award, whose past honorees include Judge Steven Leifman, Trish & Dan Bell and Ron Book, among others; ChapmanPartnership.org.
Classic Reimagined
Every Thursday from 3 p.m.-6 p.m., Elia On The River trades traditional tea service for something livelier with Tipsy Tea Thursdays, a spritz-fueled twist on the classic afternoon ritual. Chef Alejandro Porben builds towers of sweet and savory bites, plated alongside a steady pour of Aperol spritzes, while live entertainment keeps the energy moving with the river views.
