Chances are good you have some passing awareness of the 1970’s-era uber-cheesy Smokey & The Bandit movies. All 3 movies were truly stinkers, but the car was cool. Now it’s back and badder than ever.

A long time ago, Burt Reynolds was lighting up movie screens as the wise-cracking FSU football star and Florida native zooming around in a black Pontiac Trans Am with garish decals and a CB radio, into which he yelled, “Breaker 1-9” every few minutes (any millennial reading this just did a Google search for “Pontiac” and “CB Radio”). Burt is older than dirt now and Pontiac is long gone, but his car lives on in the form of the handcrafted 2017 Trans Am 455 Super Duty made by Florida-based Trans Am Worldwide. Based on an outrageously modified Chevy Camaro, the new TA is powered by a 1,000-hp supercharged 7.4 Liter V8. As a point of reference, that’s way more power than the clinically insane Dodge Hellcat or even its batpoop-crazy Demon cousin.
