When Luca Bassani founded Wally Yachts in 1994, the focus was on high-performance sailboats crafted from carbon fiber with a radically new look. The firm soon began producing equally impressive poweryachts, with the latest being the Wallypower 58X. With stealthy lines straight out of a James Bond movie, the 58X goes as good as it looks, powered by four Mercury 600hp V12 Verado outboards that deliver a top speed of 50 knots, a feat few 58’ motoryachts can perform. Joysticks control the Verado, making it easy even for those new to boats to dock like an old salt. The deckhouse provides shelter from the elements, with huge glass panels that afford an unobstructed view. At anchor, the bulwarks drop down, transforming the craft into a veritable floating island, with easy access to the water on either side. For overnight adventures, the 58X ensures all aboard are comfortable, with a lounge, galley and head, plus an airy owner’s stateroom as well as a spacious guest cabin; Wally.com.
