Among the artists to watch is Maria T. Ason, whose digital medium is “scanography,” whereas she scans objects that are sometimes combined with a human face and later processed by manipulating and creating colors that are not natural in the original scan, further enhancing textures. The objects used can include anything from personal items to organic matter such as flowers and leaves. All the pieces are printed in thin acrylic, capturing color and a smooth finish. During the Red Dot Art Fair, her works will be exhibited as a combination of progressive style and traditional style; Dec. 4-8 @ Mana Wynwood; AsonArtworks.com.
