Coconut oil has been getting a lot of attention lately. Mostly because it’s become the ‘go-to’ beauty product for celebrities. So although we all know that coconut oil is great for digestion and weight loss, here are 10 other unusual things you can do with it.

1. Dental hygiene. Gargling a tablespoon of coconut oil for 20 seconds helps you get rid of bacteria that causes bad breath, and as an added bonus, it also helps whiten your teeth.

2. Sunburn Care. Coconut oil is a great moisturizer to use after a bad sunburn because it helps your skin heal and turn that sunburn into a gorgeous tan.

3. Scrubbing Exfoliator. It’s perfect to remove dead skin. Mix in equal parts coconut oil and brown sugar to create an indulgent exfoliator to use all over.

4. Shaving Cream. Lather your legs up with coconut oil before shaving, and rest assured that when you’re done, your legs will be smoother and softer than ever.

5. Lip Balm. When your lips start to burn from dryness, it’s time to moisturize. Just dab a few drops of coconut oil onto your lips and watch the dryness disappear.

6. Makeup Remover. No more struggling to take off that waterproof mascara. Apply coconut oil and let it sit for a few seconds and clean it up with a cotton pad.

7. Control Frizz. Apply a pinch of coconut oil to the tips of your hair to remove frizz and treat split ends to debut gorgeous tresses that are as soft as they are shiny.

8. Nasal Relief. Whether you have allergies or simply a runny nose, both ailments are sure to disappear when you rub a bit of coconut oil inside the nostrils.

9. Cuticle Oil. If you have rough cuticles, apply a small amount of coconut oil to your fingertips to soften the dry parts and help nails grow long and strong.

10. Hair Booster. Over-plucked your eyebrows and have a big event coming up soon? Don’t fret. Coconut oil works great as a hair growth booster. Massage it on the area that needs help to activate cell growth.
