Fort Lauderdale’s Charity Guild has a purpose that is straightforward and impactful — to raise funds to provide healthcare and social services for medically fragile, disadvantaged and emotionally challenged children in Broward County. In the last 20 years alone, they have raised more then $2,000,000 for the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) and Kids In Distress (KID) through their annual Spring Luncheon and famous Fall Event. Did you know that every $1 spent at CDTC in early prevention for developmental delays saves $7 in future intervention? A child’s visit to a CDTC clinic costs $63, while that same service at an emergency room could be well over $500. Similarly, the average cost of a single juvenile incarceration per year is over $40,000. KID counsels and trains over 5,000 children and their families with complex needs to provide safe and loving homes. The time to act is now; CharityGuild.net.

On the edge of the Miami River, where sun meets memory, her spirit lingers. Elia — radiant, free, unforgettable. We chose the restaurant Elia on the River as the setting for this story, drawn to its ability to embody both the romance and the raw beauty we imagined. With its stunning waterfront views and a menu that marries coastal flavors with the richness of locally sourced ingredients, Elia on the River offers more than just a dining experience — it creates a world where every detail feels intentional, layered, and alive.
