The Molteni&C | Dada By Solesdi Group 2021 Narrative Project, designed by Creative Director Vincent Van Duysen, is intended as a tribute to two great protagonists of one of the most creative seasons of Italian architecture and design: Ignazio Gardella and Carlo Scarpa. Innovators who were simultaneously, but with their own independent languages, key interpreters of the Modern Movement that started with the revolution of Rationalism. Their language of shapes, rules, details, material and color palettes inspires the 2021 Heritage Collection, starting with the pure harmony seen in the perfectly balanced volumes, in an alternation of solids and voids that comprise the Marteen multifunctional seating and storage system. In the Ratio modular kitchen, we clearly see Van Duysen’s interpretive flair, based on the presence of compositional elements similar to buildings and on the skillful use of materials, of which he is an undisputed master. Similarly, Nicola Gallizia’s 505 UP represents the heart of contemporary living needs, where domestic spaces are versatile, multifunctional, and can be adapted and modelled according to use, while epitomizing the height of Italian style. Two breathtaking chairs round out the extensive collection: Van Duysen’s Margou armchair is the ideal embodiment of the Belgian designer’s constant search for formal exasperation and aesthetic freshness; while London Designer Jasper Morrison’s Tea chair is a mesmerizing tribute to lightness. Aldo Rossi, Jean Nouvel, Foster + Partners, Michele De Lucchi, to name but a few Grand Masters, would be proud; Miami.MolteniGroup.com.

Still Waters
Some of the pieces in this editorial took 300 hours to make. Some were crafted by hand in Miami. Some exist as one-of-a-kind in the world. Shot at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Still Waters is an introduction to the women who build their businesses stitch by stitch, bead by bead, and to the women who wear them. Not because she was told to, but because she knows the difference.
