Of all the complications, a moon phase is considered by many to be the most mesmerizing, as it displays an ever-changing view of the moon. The Lunascope 43mm stainless steel case houses a deep-blue dial featuring 15-minute indices between the gold-plated hour markers, a subdial for the date indicator and the main feature — a rotating representation of the moon’s trajectory through the heavens. Portrayed in graphic detail, the moon makes a complete circuit of the sky — and the dial — every 29 days, 44 minutes and 2.9 seconds, allowing the wearer to precisely track the phases without ever having to step outside and gaze up. While it will require an adjustment every 128 years to continue accurately tracking the moon, most wearers will gladly accommodate that concession. Another visual delight awaits in the form of the transparent crystal back housing, providing a view of the in-house automatic movement in action.
