Looking like the Transformer that it is, the AirCar, a two-seater that morphs from a sports car into an aircraft in just 2 minutes and 15 seconds, has made transportation history. “The AirCar’s certification opens the door for mass production of very efficient flying cars,” says Professor Stefan Klein, the inventor, leader of the development team and test pilot. “It’s official and the final confirmation of our ability to change mid-distance travel forever.” Fifty years ago, cars were the epitome of freedom. “AirCar expands those frontiers, by taking us into the next dimension — where road meets sky,” says Anton Zajac, the project’s co-founder. The challenging flight tests included the full range of flight and performance maneuvers and demonstrated an astonishing static and dynamic stability in aircraft mode. The takeoff and landing procedures were achieved without the pilot’s need to touch the flight controls. The company hopes to have it commercially available within a year; Klein-Vision.com.
