Even though it’s the traditional libation of the Kentucky Derby since 1938, we have a feeling fans of the Sony Ericsson Open will give equestrian lovers the world over a run for their money — and their drink — this year.

4 Sprigs Mint
2.5 oz Bourbon Whiskey
1 teaspoon Powdered Sugar
2 teaspoon Pomegranate Juice
Splash of Lime

Muddle mint leaves, powdered sugar, and pomegranate juice in a glass. Fill silver mint julep glass with shaved or crushed ice and add bourbon and lime. Top with more ice and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve.
