The Watchmaster

Marty Pomphrey once said there’s something uniquely appealing about the combination of design, craftsmanship, precision and nostalgia that you find in watches. It’s a venerable industry that’s never boring. And he couldn’t be more right.

Made for the guy whose idea of “Happy Hour” is the hour of the day devoted to his active lifestyle, Aulta surf-inspired watches are crafted to seamlessly take the wearer from “Work To Water.” Co-founder Marty Pomphrey got into watches 20 years ago when living in Japan. He went on to establish Fossil Japan as the Tokyo-based Managing Director and grew the Diesel Watch license business to $50 million in just 3 years as the Global VP. He met Aulta co-founders Abe Allouche and Pancho Sullivan through their mutual love of surfing and the result is a unique venture that lets them chase their dreams and frees their entrepreneurial spirit. The Leeway features a Japanese Miyota Chronograph Movement and functions equally well for work and play. The Seaward boasts a Japanese Miyota Day/Date Movement and is “ready for anything.” Their first Automatic Movement Dive Watch will be out this autumn; AultaSurf.com.
