Hot on the heels of their seminal, seasonal The Nutcracker, Miami City Ballet is offering yet another fanciful fete for the tail-end of the winter season. Running Feb. 10-Mar. 12, the world premiere of Igor Stravinsky’s The Fairy’s Kiss as envisioned by master choreographer Alexei Ratmansky is sure to be another crowd-pleaser from this celebrated company. Headlining a triple-bill including George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht Ballet and Tony Award-Winning Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyphonia, the Tchaikovsky-inflected score of Stravinsky’s masterpiece is well-complemented by set and costume design from world-renowned Scenographer Jerome Kaplan. With such a star-studded cast and crew attached, it’s hard to believe that tickets for this run starts at just $20; MiamiCityBallet.org.
