Originally built by Charles Deering, the brother of Vizcaya owner, James Deering, the home was a reflection of his passion for the arts and nature. Today, the space is a cultural center for Southeast Miami-Dade County and boasts nature hikes, art exhibitions, festivals and performances year-round. While some cultural organizations take a much-needed break during the summer months, the Deering Estate keeps their programming going. It’s a perfect destination for families or a great spot for a romantic or adventurous date. This summer you can head down for programs such as Sunrise Photography, Full Moon Vinyasa Yoga, Fee-Free P.L.A.Y. Day, Butterfly Walks and their wildly popular Cabaret Concerts; DeeringEstate.org.
