Guests of Thea’s Super Club are greeted by name and offered a flûte of boutique bubbles while the chef sends his warmest welcome in the form of complimentary hors d’oeuvres. The exclusive yet egalitarian ambiance tempts you to spend the evening there, and its supporters want to keep it that way. If you asked a fellow diner about the entertainment, they might compare Pavel Vitier’s 3-piece ensemble to the Latin-jazz stylings of Buena Vista Social Club, except no one speaks when the trumpet is playing. There’s no social media machine or PR force behind this event since access is by invitation only. It has easily become the most challenging reservation to secure in Miami, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying; 1951 NW 7th Ave.; 305.777.3777; TheaMiami.com.
