Splitting Seconds

In addition to eye-catching styling, as the official timepiece of the 1927 Munich Olympics in Munich, Junghans plays a large role in sporting history.

While the firm was founded in 1861, the Bauhaus-inspired designs of Junghans continue to evolve, as evidenced by this unique timepiece, which is stunning yet eminently practical. Combining traditional time-keeping duties with the ability to track hours, minutes and seconds, it’s equally at home at a sporting event or the office. The 18-carat white gold case houses a self-winding movement with a 48-hour reserve. The anthracite dial provides a clear, unobstructed view of the orange subdials and matching orange tachymeter ring, while the pushers bracket the 12 o’clock position, stopwatch-style with the date window just above the 5 o’clock position. A leather strap with an orange leather lining visible through accent holes keeps this masterpiece firmly in place. Production is limited to a total of 50 pieces; JunghansWatchesUSA.net.
