Drab To Fab

I ‘ve recently taken up a new hobby: giving new life to old furniture. I’m obsessed with the entire process — from hunting for the right pieces at estate sales, flea markets and thrift stores to selecting the perfect paint, stain, tools and materials to help spruce them up.

Throughout this whole experience, I’ve realized that my taste has dramatically evolved from sleek and modern to warm, worn and inviting. It’s said that your palate changes every 7 years or so, and I’m starting to believe that the same happens with home design. Whatever style you may gravitate toward today may not be what you like tomorrow. And that’s fine. Change is good. And it can be a lot of fun — whether you do it yourself or hire a pro.
